Catch-Up Bookkeeping

Behind on Your Books? Let's Fix That.

It happens to a lot of small business owners. You get busy running your business, and before you know it, your books are three months, six months, or even a year behind. Maybe tax season is approaching and your accountant is asking for records you do not have. Maybe you just know things are a mess and you do not know where to start.

That is exactly what catch-up bookkeeping is for. I will go through everything, reconcile your accounts, categorize every transaction, and bring your books completely current.

Pricing

From $200 Per Month Behind

Catch-up bookkeeping is priced based on how far behind your books are and the complexity of your accounts. The starting rate is $200 per month of backlog. During our consultation, I will review your situation and give you an exact quote before we start.

How Pricing Works

The cost depends on several factors: how many months behind you are, the number of bank and credit card accounts, your transaction volume, and how organized (or disorganized) the existing records are.

For example, a sole proprietor with one bank account and one credit card who is 6 months behind might pay around $1,200 total. A contractor with three accounts, subcontractor payments, and 12 months of backlog will be more.

I always provide a fixed quote upfront. No hourly billing, no surprises. You will know exactly what the catch-up will cost before we begin.

Common Reasons Businesses Fall Behind

Too Busy Running the Business

You started doing your own books and it worked for a while. Then the business grew, things got hectic, and the bookkeeping was the first thing to slide. Now you are months behind and do not know where to begin.

Previous Bookkeeper Left

Your last bookkeeper moved on and there was a gap before you found a replacement. Or maybe the handoff was rough and records are incomplete. Either way, there are months of transactions that need to be properly recorded.

Tax Season Deadline

Your accountant needs your records and your books are not ready. Whether your fiscal year-end just passed or you are heading into tax season, I can get your books current quickly so your accountant has what they need.

The Process

How Catch-Up Bookkeeping Works

1

Assessment

We start with a free consultation where I review your QuickBooks file (or help you set one up), look at how far behind you are, and understand the complexity. Then I provide a fixed quote.

2

Reconciliation & Categorization

I work through each month methodically: connecting bank feeds, matching transactions, categorizing income and expenses, and resolving any discrepancies. I will email you with questions as they come up.

3

Review & Delivery

Once your books are current, I send you a summary of where things stand. Your account balances, any issues found, and recommendations going forward. If you want to transition to monthly bookkeeping, we can start immediately.

Stop Stressing About Overdue Books

The longer you wait, the bigger the job gets. Let's have a quick conversation, figure out where you stand, and get a plan in place. The consultation is free and there is no obligation.
